Flickerfest 2010
Dungog’s historic cinema, James Theatre, is host to another great event with the nationally touring Flickerfest short film festival on Saturday March 13, 2010. There will be 4 sessions on the one day: one of international short films, another of shorts with a decidedly musical bent, the best shorts from past Oscars nominees and winners, and of course, the best of the Australian shorts from the 2010 Flickerfest. Download a program flyer or download a Flickerfest tour brochure.
This event is presented by the Dungog Film Society (now in its 20th year) and the Dungog Cinema (still going strong since 1913). Our other sponsors are listed here.
We are proud to be the only cinema between Avoca and Kempsey to screen these fantastic shorts!
AGOG again!
Our Feast of Foreign Films will run again on September 3 & 4, 2010 with a supper of excellent local food and wine – watch this space!
Last year’s event was a success with over 400 bums on the cinema seats and overwhelming positive feedback about the program and our international supper.
Dungog
If you decide to make a weekend of your visit to Dungog contact the Royal Hotel, 02-49923070 or ring the Dungog Visitor Information Centre (VIC) on 49922212. There are plenty of things to do in and around Dungog: the museum, coffee shops, restaurants and wineries, take the heritage walk about town (the VIC has a map), take a day trip into the Barrington Tops National Park or the surrounding State Forests – the rivers are sublime – just ask the VIC for 101 Things to do in the District.
